Auburn’s Jade Rhodes named SEC Player of the Week
AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – Jade Rhodes has been named the SEC Player of the Week following a dominant showing in Auburn’s 4-0 week. The Sarasota, Fla. native went 10-for-15 with three home runs, eight RBI and nine runs scored as the Tigers won their school record 16th consecutive game.
Rhodes also set a school record during a 23-0 (5) win at Arkansas with five hits in a game against Arkansas on Saturday going 5-for-5 with six RBI and two home runs. The Tigers bettered their previous school record for largest win over a conference opponent they had set the night before.
The senior first baseman is tied for the SEC lead with 16 homeruns and tied for the team lead with 18 multiple RBI games this year.
This is the second time Rhodes has been named SEC Player of the Week in her career (March 28, 2016) and the fourth time this year the Tigers have had a league weekly award.
