Clanton Man Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting Wife at Doctor’s Office
A central Alabama man has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his wife at a physician’s office a year ago.
Eric Price pleaded guilty Monday to a murder charge in the slaying of 24-year-old Leaj Jarvis Price.
Prosecutors will recommend a sentence of 40 years in prison for the 27-year-old man. Price entered the plea as attorneys were preparing for the start of his trial.
Investigators say Price shot and killed his wife after she fled to a doctor’s office near their home in Jemison on April 13, 2015. Price then barricaded himself inside their house for hours and shot himself in the head but survived.
A judge scheduled Price’s sentencing for May 11 in Clanton.
