Montgomery County Celebrates 200th Birthday by Getting Healthy

The Montgomery County Commission is looking to celebrate Montgomery County’s 200th birthday by getting healthy.

This morning, county officials kicked off the Montgomery County Celebration, Walk 200 Challenge. During this six week challenge, teams will walk 200 miles in honor of the county’s bicentennial.

County officials say the competition is not just about celebrating the county but improving its citizens.

“We got about 37 teams that have agreed to walk a county mile, and its all about a healthy Alabama, a healthy Montgomery, and healthy bodies,” Montgomery County Commission, Chairman Elton Dean said.
