Tickets Now on Sale for 48th Annual State Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet
Public tickets are now on sale for the 48th Annual State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet to be held on Saturday, May 21 in the Birmingham Ballroom at Sheraton Hotel. Tickets are $150 for an adult, which includes the reception and banquet. Tickets for children under the age of 18 are $50.
The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the induction banquet at 6:30 p.m.
The members of the Class of 2016 are: Andrew Toney (basketball), James Brooks (football), David Cutcliffe (coaching), Jim Fulmer (basketball), Oscar Gamble (baseball), Martha Jones Lang (golf), Chris Samuels (football), and Calvin Smith (track and field). W. Edgar Welden, Chairman of the Board of the Alabama Sports Hall will receive the Distinguished American Sportsmen Award.
In addition to these honorees there will be approximately 40 former inductees present, some of those who have committed early include: Bill Battle, Ronnie Baynes, Larry Blakeney, Dr. Ken Blankenship, Tommy Brooker, Ron Floehlich, Virginia Derby Grimes, Bobby Johns, E.J. Junior, Lloyd Nix, Major Ogilivie, Jerry Pate, Sarah Patterson, Don Salls, Sonny Smith, Steve Wallace, Ennis Whatley, and Larry Willingham.
