Hornets’ Black & Gold Game Day Plans
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (bamastatesports.com) — Saturday is “Black & Gold” Game Day at Alabama State University, which is chocked-full of fun events that surround the University’s athletic program.
Fans and interested members of the general public are encouraged to come and participate on the ASU campus as the Hornet Football Team, under the leadership of head coach Brian Jenkins, holds a scrimmage game, which will include having members of the public acting as ‘honorary coaches’ who can call plays and mark out strategy for the team. On-field festivities will begin at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to all!
Also, the ASU Lady Hornets Softball Team will be playing both today and Saturday free of charge – see below for specific times.
There will be concessions for sale at both events and lots of fun for all present.
FREE TAILGATING
The University’s RV parking lots open today (Friday) at 5 p.m.- in the Zone G parking lot at the ASU Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex. Fans with RVs are encouraged to call 334-229-4529 to reserve your space for the weekend. Tent tailgating will also be permitted on Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. in the Zone E parking lot behind ASU’s Abernathy Hall of Education.
PARKING FOR SATURDAY’S BLACK & GOLD GAME
The parking for Saturday’s Black & Gold Game will be available at no charge at the ASU Stadium in Zones B and C with ASU Stadium gates B, D, and E being open for fans beginning at 10:30 a.m. On-field festivities will begin at 11 a.m.
2016 SEASON FOOTBALL TICKETS ON SALE
The ASU Ticket Office will be open Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for fans to purchase season tickets for the 2016 football season. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bamastatesports.com/tickets.
ASU SOFTBALL GAMES
ASU Softball will host a big weekend of games at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex. The Lady Hornets, who lead the SWAC’s Eastern Division, will host Mississippi Valley St. in a three-game series, with a single game TODAY (Friday) at 5 p.m., and on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
