AU’s Carosone tabbed as SEC co-player of the week

 

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – Auburn’s Emily Carosone has been named the SEC Co-Player of the Week the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Carosone was a big factor in Auburn’s 4-1 week with all five games coming against top 15 competition. The senior launched a three-run homer in Auburn’s 9-6 win over No. 8/7 Florida State on Wednesday to help extend Auburn’s school record 17-game winning streak.

The Orlando native enjoyed a 7-for-14 week at the plate driving in seven runs and scoring seven times herself. Carosone tied a school record by scoring four runs in Auburn’s 12-3 (5) win over Georgia on Saturday and leads the conference with 61 runs.

She also accepted three HBP to bring her career total to 77 for the fifth highest in NCAA history and third among active players.

This is Carosone’s second SEC Player of the week award and the fifth weekly league award for the Tigers in 2016 which is the most weekly awards in Auburn history (1999, 3).
