Biscuits drop series to Lookouts with 9-6 loss
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AlabamaNews.Net) — On a stormy night at Chattanooga’s A,T&T Field, the Montgomery Biscuits were able to quickly recover from a 3-0 Lookouts lead, but surrendered five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to lose 9-6.
Montgomery middle relief pitcher Jared Mortensen suffered his second loss of the season, giving up 3 earned runs in a little more than 2 innings of work. Three Montgomery errors loomed large in the loss.
The Biscuits return to Riverwalk Stadium Wednesday night as they open a five game home stand against the Birmingham Barons, who currently occupy the Southern League’s Northern Division cellar.
Montgomery trails division leader Jackson by 2 1/2 games.
