Dozens of families in one Wilcox County community want to be added to the county water supply — but county leaders say NO.
People in the Lamison area of the county have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get on county water for years.
Many residents have had to dig expensive wells for water, while others have had to haul water home from a pigot or do without.
“This area here probably has around 200 people that’s out of water,” said John Matthews. “And that’s just unacceptable today.”
The Wilcox County Commission meets every 2nd and 4th Monday at 5:30.
