Woman Arrested as Possible Shooting Suspect

At approximately 3:30 Monday morning, Andalusia Police officers responded to the Andalusia Hospital Emergency Room for a gunshot victim. Upon arrival officers found a black male suffering from multiple gunshots. The victim was taken into the ER for treatment.

A black female, identified as 30 year old Patrice Cherelle Powell of Fort Walton Beach, was with the victim at the time of the call. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the shooting did not happen in Andalusia, but in Crestview, FL.

The victim, who is not being identified, was driven to Andalusia after being shot. Crestview Police Dept. was contacted and sent an investigator to interview Ms. Powell.

Ms. Powell was later charged by the APD for obstruction of government operations and giving false information to an officer. She is currently being held in the Covington County Jail.

Her bond was set at $500 for each charge.
