According to dosomething.org, more than a million students drop out of school every year.
Students of Charles Henderson Middle School are learning why they should stay in school. Shelley Stewart, founder of the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation shared with students consequences if they do drop out.
The foundation reaches millions of students and educators across the country with efforts to reduce the dropout rate and increase graduation rates. He says education is the key to their future.
“We can do better with jobs, we can do better with reducing poverty, reducing crime, reducing the illiteracy…all of these things,” says Stewart.
Wednesday, students will get a chance to visually see the consequences of dropping out of school on the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation’s Choice Bus.
