Record Number of Robbery Convictions in Montgomery
District Attorney Daryl Bailey announces that Fifteen (15) Robbery convictions were obtained in Montgomery County Circuit Court in the last eight (8) days. District Attorney Bailey stated that “this is a record number of robbery convictions in such a short amount of time. We are continuing to focus on violent crime in Montgomery by putting a lot of resources into making our community safer.” Bailey added that “if you commit a robbery in Montgomery we will be coming after you and will work hard to make sure you are convicted and sentenced to a long time in the Alabama Department of Corrections.”
Tyrell Deshawn Moore, 19, of Montgomery was convicted on May 4th for the Home Invasion Robbery of a 91 year old lady in her home in Montgomery. Moore broke into her house, removed his belt and began to choke the victim while punching her repeatedly in the face. He was also convicted of the Robbery of a victim, who he robbed as she was waiting for the bus on Rosa Parks Ave. Moore will be sentenced on June 2nd by Judge Truman Hobbs, Jr.
Bailey stated that “we will be seeking to lock Tyrell Moore up for the rest of his natural life on June 2nd. Someone who would attack a 91 year old lady never needs to see the light of day again.”
Keldrick Williams, 25, of Hoover and Keshauna Cummings, 19, of Montgomery were convicted on May 10th of five (5) Robberies that occurred in June of last year in Montgomery. Williams and Cummings robbed a victim on Baldwin Brook Drive at gunpoint, stealing his car. Cummings then shot the victim. The next day Williams and Cummings robbed four (4) people at gunpoint at the McGhee Place Apartment pool.
Bailey stated that “Keldrick Williams and Keshauna Cummings are very dangerous criminals. We will be asking for the maximum amount of time for these violent offenders when they are sentenced on June 10th.”
Deadrain Holloway, 20, of Montgomery was convicted on May 9th for two counts of Robbery. Deadrain robbed a victim at gunpoint in April of 2014 outside of the victim’s residence at the Gazebo East Apartments. In December of 2013, Deadrain robbed the store clerk at the Marathon Gas Station on Troy Highway.
Bailey stated that “Deadrain needs to be locked up for a very long time to protect our community. We will be asking for a long prison term when he is sentenced on June 1st.”
Jekovan Ligon, 29, was convicted on May 10th for a Robbery he committed on Virginia Loop Road in October of last year. Ligon robbed the victim of his money.
Bailey stated that “Ligon is a habitual offender and I am glad we were able to get this conviction. We will be asking for a lengthy sentence for him when he is sentenced on June 14th.”
