Huntsville Elementary School Placed on Lockdown
Authorities say a school in north Alabama has been locked down after a fight at a preschool graduation ceremony.
Huntsville City Schools spokesman Keith Ward says adults got into a personal dispute at the end of the ceremony Friday at James Dawson Elementary. Police and security were called and the individuals involved in the fight were asked to leave the cafeteria. Ward says they continued fighting in the school’s parking lot and the school was placed on lockdown out of concern for student and staff safety.
Ward says the district expects parents, guardians and other visitors to act as positive role models for students and behavior that disrupts the educational process won’t be tolerated.
