Two Pike County Schools Awarded Grants to Fund and Establish Pre-K Programs

More than $100, 000 will help fund and establish Pre-K programs in Pike County.

New Life Christian Academy will be able to expand their existing program while Pike County Elementary will get a new program altogether. The grant take the burden off parents with free tuition. Administrators say it gives them a chance to also offer more resources for students.

“We’ll get a chance to hire a new pre-k teacher. I’m really excited about that…new equipment for the students and supplies and inventory, so this is a big deal,” says Annie Blackmon of New Life Christian Academy.
