Montgomery Holds First Youth Summer Jobs Program
The city of Montgomery is giving young people an opportunity to build their resumes, and get hands on experience with summer jobs. The city held their first summer youth jobs program.
City officials say over 300 students applied for the program in May, and now the city narrowed it down to 100 young people from ages 17 to 21.
The jobs range from working at the local library, Montgomery Zoo, and even city hall. Young people will work 20 to 30 hours a week learning several different trades and skills.
City officials say is the program goes well this summer, they’re hoping to expand to the private sector next year.
