Troy Officials Prepare to Submit Community Development Block Grant Request

Troy Officials need the public’s help as they prepare to submit a request for a Community Development Block Grant.

The $450,000 grant includes a ten percent match from the city and it’s provided by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. If granted, it would help demolish run-down, unused houses and help with street and drainage improvements. Demolition to run down houses would be no cost to owners. Officials say it’s important for residents to get involved by submitting their concerns to the city.

“We like to prove that there is a need and when you have pictures, comments, or surveys from people who live in those areas and know exactly whats going on that helps strengthen the application,” says Anna Williams, Project Engineer of CDG Engineers and Associates.

If you are interested in sharing your concerns, you can visit the Troy Utilities Department to pick up a survey form and form for comments.T
