Selma PD Arrest Duklin St. Shooting Suspect
On June 6, the Selma Police Department CID Unit made an arrest of 17-year old La’Darius Averhart of Selma, in connection with the May 30th shooting in the 100 Block of Dunklin Street where a black male subject was shot one time.
The bullet went through his left arm and through his abdomen. The victim was transported to UAB for treatment and is still hospitalized but stable.
Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the suspect was the possible shooter.
La’Darius Averhart came to police headquarters and after questioning, probable cause was established to charge him with 1st degree assault.
Bond is set at $60,000 and he is being held at the Dallas County jail.
