Changes Coming to Downtown Troy
Historic Downtown Troy could possibly improve thanks to a planning grant.
The $40,000 grant includes a $10,000 match from the city. It’s expected to enhance the area. But city officials say they need the community’s help in a series of public meetings that will start next week.
The meetings consist of workshops and a draft plan presentation. Officials say it’s important to have everyone’s input to guide their decision making.
“We’ve done case studies on different downtown’s and what we like in those downtown’s and maybe we can implement some of what they’ve done here and maybe improve upon it,” says Planning and Zoning Administrator, Melissa Sanders.
The first meeting for Troy’s downtown vision is Thursday, June 16th at The Studio in Troy, starting a 5 pm.
