Selma Police Department Holds Promotion Ceremony

Big changes are underway at the Selma Police Department.

Chief John Brock is increasing the amount of senior staff on the force and seven officers have been promoted.

Brock said having the right people in place will mean a smoother running, more efficient police department.

“The senior staff in any department basically run the department. The chief manages it but they’re the ones that do the day to day operations,” said Brock.

He said the promotions bring the senior staff in his department up to nineteen.

They include three sergeants, three lieutenants and a captain.
