Central Alabama Veterans Receive Bikes
Veterans throughout Central Alabama have a new way to get around town. The VA clinic gave away bikes to formally homeless veterans. They say it’s all thanks to donations from people across the river region. It was all apart of the ‘Wheels for Vets’ bike drive held by the Central Alabama VA back in May. With the help of Goodwill, and generous donations from people across the river region during the month of May, the VA collected over 35 bikes for vets.
VA Officials say they hope the drive will inspire other Goodwill locations throughout the nation to dedicate a month to distribute bikes to homeless, or formerly homeless Veterans.
