Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Department Host Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo

Dozens of families kicked off Father’s Day weekend reeling in plenty of fish.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department invited people out to their annual kids fishing rodeo. The free event was held at the Montgomery County Fishing Ponds. Kids ages 6 to 12-years-old were able to participate with their family.

“We’ve got a lot of volunteers that came out from Iron Men Ministries that wanted to assist to help the kids reel in and get fish out of the pond so tremendous work goes into this,” says Sheriff Derrick Cunningham.

The department added 1,600 pounds of fish to the pond for the rodeo. In addition to the kids fishing rodeo each year, the department also has a senior fishing rodeo.
