Crews Work to Repair Splash Pad at Riverfront
Why isn't the Riverfront Park Splash Pad open yet?
The temperatures are on the rise and the heat is definitely on, but the Splash Pad at Montgomery’s Riverfront Park is not.
After damage to the pump system during the New Year’s Day flooding, it had to be replaced.
Crews are out there this week replacing the circulating system.
We wanted to know why it has taken the city about 6 months to complete.
“We were working with FEMA to begin with through all the other damage that was received from the flood. So that was kinda the prolonging of the process. And then once we made the termination to go ahead and invest in a new system, to order it and get it here has taken longer than we hoped. But it will be up and running soon,” said Special Events Director Tom Pierce.
We’re told the Splash Pad is expected to be back up and running in two weeks.
