Governor Offers Reward to Help Crack Dallas Co. Cold Case
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Authorities in Dallas County are hoping a five thousand dollar reward from the Governor’s Office will help crack a cold case.
The investigation into the death of Perry County native Samuel Payne has been going on now — for more than a year.
Payne disappeared on New Year’s Eve night 2014. His body was found about three months later near a creek in Dallas County.
“We’re trying to solve this for the family. Its being investigated by the SBI, State Bureau of Investigation, to find out whether it was a homicide or not, or what exactly happened to him,” said District Attorney Michael Jackson.
