House Fire on Rita Lane in West Montgomery

Fire units were dispatch at approximately 5:40 this morning on a structure fire in the 3600 block of Rita Ln.

Upon arrival at a single story house was fully involved, and had burned through the roof. Units made a quick attack, and treated a 17 year old male with approximately 85 % of 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the body. His vitals were stable however his condition is critical. He was taken to  BMCS by Care.  He is currently being flown to Birmingham burn center.

There were five other occupants in the house that made it out uninjured. The young man’s sister, brother, boyfriend and her two small children.

This incident is currently under investigation.
