Paterson to host MMLB’s 11th annual Home Run Derby & All-Star Game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AlabamaNews.Net) — Montgomery’s Paterson Field is set to host the Montgomery Metro Baseball League’s  11th  annual Home Run Derby & All-Star game next weekend, with a lineup that will include some familiar faces to local prep and collegiate baseball fans.

MMLB’s founder Charlie Dees says some of the more notable players with local ties include former Alabama Christian Academy standout Chandler Taylor of the Alabama Crimson Tide and teammate Taylor Poe.

Chase Morris of Faulkner University, Chase Johnson of AUM and Huntingdon’s Garrett Headley are also expected in the batter’s box.

The MMBL is a collegiate baseball wood bat summer league with players from all over the state of Alabama.

The Home Run Derby is set to begin Friday, July 15th @ 6:30pm, with 2 All-Star games slated for 5 & 7pm Saturday, July 16th.

Admission will be $5 for adults, $2 for kids ages 12 and younger.
