Pastor Urging Communities to Come Together

As the nation heals from recent shootings, local pastors in our area are coming together to try and bridge the divide when it comes to raceĀ and law enforcement.

Pastor Tim Anderson Jr. of Southside Church of Christ says that it’s time for people across the country to take off the blinders, be more open, and start a conversation, whether you agree or disagree.Ā Like churches across the country, Pastor Anderson opened that dialogue by having a blackout prayer vigil for all those who lost their lives in the past two weeks.

“Our faith has to move. Our faith has to be a productive process, and so we are trying to engage different people in our community, whatever religious backgrounds. Whatever background you come from,” says Anderson.

Southside Church of Christ homes to continue the conversation about race through various community events in the near future.
