Golden Tigers projected 2nd in SIAC’s Western Division

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (goldentigersports.com) —  The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) released the predicted order of finish at their annual Media Day at the Doubletree by Hilton Wednesday morning.

Tuskegee, 10-3 a season ago, is picked to finish second in the SIAC West Division just behind last year’s conference champion Miles. The Golden Tigers picked up seven first place and 69 total points, while Miles picked up 72 total and eight first place votes in the poll.

Central State was picked to finish third, followed by Lane (who received a first place vote) and Kentucky State.

Albany State was once again picked to win the East Division with 78 total votes and 14 first place votes. Morehouse was picked second in the Division (two first place votes), followed by Fort Valley State (one first place vote), Clark Atlanta and Benedict.

The Golden Tigers open the season September 3 on the road against Clark Atlanta, a game which be carried as the NCAA Division II Game of the Week on the American Sports Network.
