Ramsier tabbed to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – Senior Casie Ramsier was named to the 2016 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Wednesday. The honor, which will be awarded at the conclusion of the 2016 season, is given annually to the top player in the country.

“Casie is very deserving of being on this preseason list,” said head coach Karen Hoppa. “She has made a huge impact on our program from the minute she stepped on campus, and we are very excited to see what she will do her senior year.”

In her career, Ramsier has netted 25 goals which currently ties her for fifth all-time in program history. The creative attacking force from Dallas, Texas has also distributed 11 assists to her name.

Ramsier had one of the top scoring seasons in Auburn history last season en route to earning NSCAA All-American honors. Her 12 goals tied for the second-highest total in a single season and were the most since that mark was matched by Sarah Steinmann in 2003.

“It is an honor to be on this list with such great players,” stated Ramsier. “I think it is great recognition for Auburn and what our program is capable of. If anything, it makes me even more excited to get back out on the field with the team. My teammates push me every single day to be better. I wouldn’t be on this list, let alone be the player that I am today, without them constantly demanding more from me. I am looking forward to starting the season off and making it the best one yet.”

Ramsier and the Tigers open the season against Alabama, Aug. 11, in an exhibition. The regular season kicks off eight days later in a duel with Clemson, Aug. 18, at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
