Overnight Montgomery Shooting Leaves One Dead, Suspect In Custody

The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the Sunday, July 24, shooting death of 31-year- old John Green of Montgomery.
MPD detectives charged Tervar Reaves, 31, of Montgomery with one count of murder. Reaves was taken into custody on the scene by MPD patrol units. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $150,000 bond.
On Sunday, July 24, at about 1:55 a.m. MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 5000 block of Vaughn Road after receiving a report of a subject shot. There, they located Green, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting initially were unknown. After further investigation, MPD developed information that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute.
