Horseshoe World Competition Begins

The Horseshoe World Competition is making its home in the capitol city for two weeks, and it’s attracting competitors for across the globe. Over 900 people will compete in the event, and most will pitch for three days. There’s several different groups, ranging from ages 7 to over 70. City officials say they’re hoping for a big economic boost during the big event.

“We estimate that it could be a one in a half million dollar economic impact. That is based off of hotel rooms, the facilities that they’re going to go to, the attractions, the restaurants, just the different things that they need,” says Meg Lewis of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.
