City Clerks in Alex City Go On Strike

Alexander City’s clerks decided to go on a strike today and not show up to work. This happened when workers found out the financial director, who was supposed to be fired due to “financial reasons,”got reinstated.

According to the Mayor, the financial director is “incompetent” and they do not get reliable numbers from her. With that being said, the other employees say they can not work with her and will not show up to work until she is gone.

City Hall is remaining open to the public. They are still accepting payments only through their drop box or with a check. They held a council meeting last night in Alex City, and that was when the mayor was informed that the employees absences would take place this morning.
