Perry Co. Officials: IT Problems Cause Payroll Delay

WAL PAYCHECKS VO12345From the West Alabama Newsroom–

Perry County officials say a technical issue caused them to fail to make payroll on time.

County workers were supposed to get paid on Thursday but weren’t paid until Friday afternoon.

Administrators say they were unable to use their computer system to calculate and print out checks so everything had to be done manually instead.

“Our computer system has consistent computations that will make sure the history is right, so their paychecks are right,” said Chief County Administrator Tamara Kennie.

“It is difficult as far as the manual process. We’re trying to get as close as we can.”

Officials say the county employs about ninety people.
