Golden Tigers acclimate to practices amid classes
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (goldentigersports.com) — The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers football players begin classes tomorrow morning, signaling an end to fall camp as they will be on a regular schedule from this point through the remainder of the season.
The team’s practice was moved from later in the afternoon to 9 am Wednesday morning on the practice field. The Golden Tigers worked through many of the same facets they have throughout camp, including special teams.
Every period featured a competition between the offense and defense. The team came together for one-on-one competition midway through practice, with each side of the ball declaring victory on every play.
The team then went through passing game drills with the defensive backs and receivers, while the interior line worked on the running game and stopping the run. The Golden Tigers came together at the end of the practice for about 25 minutes worth of team drills before calling it a day following conditioning.
The team will begin their regular practice schedule tomorrow and continue through the season. They open the season on the road at Clark Atlanta September 3. Kick off time for the season opener is 7 pm (eastern) and the game will be carried on the American Sports Network.
