Hu; Biscuits’ bats best Chattanooga 6-2

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (biscuitsbaseball.com) – The Biscuits evened things up in the Wild Card race on Thursday night, defeating the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field by a score of 6-2.

After a rain delay of an hour and 20 minutes pushed first pitch back to 8:35 PM ET, Chih-Wei Hu (6-8) took the mound and continued to dominate the Lookouts hurling six innings of one-run ball, fanning a season-high eight batters on the way to the right-hander’s third-straight victory. Hu’s lone run allowed was unearned, and the Taiwanese pitcher has now gone three starts without surrendering an earned run against Chattanooga.

Hu got plenty of help tonight from his offense as Willy Adames delivered a sacrifice fly in the first off Chattanooga starter Aaron Slegers. Jake Bauers would add an RBI-single in the third, and Kean Wong would come through with a two-out, two-run double in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Armando Araiza would tack on an RBI-single in the sixth on a 3-0 pitch, and Wong would collect his third RBI of the night on a bases loaded walk in the same inning as the Biscuits went on to defeat the Lookouts for the fifth time this season. The two clubs are tied once again for the Wild Card spot heading into Game 3 when Brent Honeywell (2-1) will do battle with Kohl Stewart (6-6) on Friday night at 6:15 PM.
