Tuskegee announces digital broadcast sports deal

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (goldentigersports.com) —  The Tuskegee University athletic department announced a partnership with Stretch Internet to provide digital services and broadcasting of each of its sports on Tuesday afternoon.

“I am excited about the capability that partnering with Stretch Internet affords Tuskegee Athletics,” Tuskegee athletic director Curtis Campbell said. “Being able to provide web streaming service of athletic events to alumni, fans and the entire Tuskegee University community is a major step in promoting and marketing the Tuskegee Athletics brand.”

Stretch Internet provides services for nearly 400 NCAA schools and conference at all levels, and the Golden Tigers are the first school from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) to join with the company.

The new network will allow the Tuskegee athletic department to, not only broadcast football games, but also each sport represented in the department. It will also allow for either video or audio broadcasts, when video is not available.

The portal provided for the network is designed to provide an immersive experience to our viewers – whether they want to view full-screen video or track stats and tweets, they choose what they want to see, and they want to see it. The viewers on the network will now be able to everything they need in one place, as they can still choose to watch a live video feed while tracking the updated game situation and stats.

Beginning in September, fans will be able to watch and listen to Tuskegee athletics on mobile devices. The responsive design will allow fans to access streams, stats and more from any device – computer, tablet, and phone – while enjoying an experience customized for their specific medium.

The broadcasts will start next week with the first match of the Spikefest Tournament at 8 am inside Chappie James Arena.
