Golden Tigers’ 2016-17 hoops schedule released
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (goldentigersports.com) The Tuskegee University men’s basketball team released their schedule for the upcoming season on Wednesday afternoon, featuring 12 home contests.
The Golden Tigers open the season at home on November 11, hosting Palm Beach Atlantic in an early start. The game will tip off at 2:30 pm, preceding a women’s basketball tournament inside Chappie James Arena.
The Golden Tigers hit the road on November 15 to face Montevallo, before returning home to face Georgia College (November 19) and Montevallo (November 22). The team will be on the road during the Thanksgiving break, traveling to Florida Tech for their Thanksgiving tournament on November 25 and 26.
Following the Thanksgiving trip, the team will stay on the road for a pair of games against Georgia College (November 30) and Morehouse (December 3). The Golden Tigers return home on Sunday, December 4 to face Johnson C. Smith in a 3:30 pm start before hitting the road to close out the pre-Christmas schedule at Clark Atlanta (December 14) and Johnson C. Smith (December 15).
Following the game in Charlotte, Tuskegee will be off for 17 days before facing Claflin on January 2 that begins a four-game home stand that includes Benedict (January 4), Paine (January 9) and Spring Hill (January 12).
The team then hits the road for games beginning January 14 against Kentucky State, before facing Central State just two days later in Ohio. The team concludes the four-game road swing at Lane on January 21, before facing LeMoyne-Owen January 23 in Memphis.
Tuskegee finishes off the year with a pair of games against Albany State and Fort Valley State, playing at home on January 28 and 30 and on the road February 11 and 13. In the middle of those four games is a contest at home against Auburn Montgomery on February 7, before closing out the regular season at home against Miles on February 20.
