44 million. That’s the number of people who do not have health insurance in the United States,
and according to the Center for Disease Control, another 38 million have inadequate health insurance.
That’s why the Medical Outreach Ministries is doing it’s part to help.

“We see patients that are 200 percent, or below the federal poverty level, that have no insurance in Montgomery, Elmore, and Autauga Counties,” says Nancy Hogan, Executive Director of Medical Outreach Ministries.

Each nurse, doctor, and health specialist work as volunteers. Not only does the outreach provide free quality health care, But also free medicine courtesy of 25 pharmaceutical companies.

Medical Outreach is also receiving some national recognition for all their hard work when it comes to diabetes education by the American Diabetes Association. The Organization is the Only ADA recognized program in the country that is volunteered staffed and exclusively provides diabetes education for low income, and uninsured people.
