Hot & Dry Pattern Continues
It was another hot day today. Temperatures easily topped out in the mid 90s across the area. It was also another day without a shower in sight across the river region. Tonight, skies will be remaining mostly clear across the area, with temperatures dipping into the lower 70s before sunrise. Tomorrow we will be right back into the mid 90s by the afternoon, with rain chances remaining slim to none.
We are still tracking the tropics. Invest 99L remains a tropical wave north of Cuba. However, models still indicate the chance that it strengthens into at least a tropical storm sometime next week. Models are in pretty good agreement that it will move into the gulf of Mexico, but its anyone’s guess as to where it ends up after that. Strengthening of the system is unlikely over the next couple of days, so we will have to continue to watch this area through next week.
The upper level ridge responsible for the dry weather pattern will remain over the area to begin the work week as well. It looks to be a rather monotonous weather pattern this week. Rain chances get ever so slightly better by the middle of the week, but very isolated showers in the afternoon hours are all we can hope for. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s each afternoon, with overnight lows in the lower 70s.
