Mobile Christian hit with probation, forfeit for transfer violation

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (ahsaa.com) — Mobile Christian High School has been fined, placed on probation for one year and ordered to forfeit its season-opening varsity football game win and one junior varsity win for violating the AHSAA eligibility rules. The school self-reported the violation.

Mobile Christian played an ineligible student in violation of the “Transfer Rule” specifically “Overlapping School Zone Rule”. The school must forfeit all contests its team won in which the student participated. Mobile Christian forfeited its 49-6 varsity win over Lighthouse Private Christian School of Pensacola, and also forfeited a junior varsity win over Excel.

The probationary period is a warning that other violations of this nature could bring further sanctions against the school.
