Authorities Make Arrest in Arson Investigation
On August 24, the Bureau of Investigations responded to 4301 Hartford Street on an Incendiary, W-3 structure fire. It was determined the structure had been vacant for approximately one year.
Several interviews were conducted on scene and follow-up field interviews were conducted regarding the incident. Multiple witnesses were interviewed and provided a description of a black male, with short hair and a slender build as one of the bystanders near the scene at the time of the incident.
On August 30, contact was made with De’ Michael L. Rose, 27, who resides at 4230 Hartford Street. While conducting a field interview with Mr. Rose, he confessed to having knowledge regarding the fire at 4301 Hartford Street.
Mr. Rose was transported to 19 Madison Ave. and interviewed after being Mirandized. Mr. Rose confirmed that he alone poured gasoline onto the rear of the vacant structure located at 4301 Hartford St. and intentionally ignited the liquid with an open flame, intending to cause damage.
Due to setting and maintaining a fire at the aforementioned address, Mr. Rose was subsequently charged with Arson Second Degree. Mr. Rose was transported to the Montgomery County Detention facility without incident or injury.
