Selma High Student Brawl Under Full Investigation
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Selma City School officials say a full investigation is underway into a fight at Selma High School that ended with one student in the hospital and four students arrested.
The melee that followed was recorded on a cell phone video camera. Students can be seen throwing punches, pulling hair and climbing on tables.
The video also shows the fight spilling out of the classroom and into the hallway.
The victim was taken to the hospital and the four attackers were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
“It’s unfortunate that kids get in arguments, sometimes they don’t know how to settle their arguments without getting into fights but I’m glad that our superintendent and principals they are working on resolutions now to try to get these kids to understand that fighting is not the answer,” said School Board Chairman Henry Hicks.
Superintendent Angela Mangum says a full investigation into the incident is now underway. She says the victim in the incident has now been treated and released from the hospital and is doing fine.
