Wilson Makes First Appearance in Dallas Co. District Court
Judge Reduces Bond for Teacher Facing Multiple Sex Charges Involving Students

The Selma High teacher arrested for having sex with a student makes a first appearance in court.
District Attorney Michael Jackson says Charlaina Lee Wilson was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in District Court.
Wilson was arrested on multiple sex charges including 2nd degree rape and 2nd degree sodomy.
Authorities began investigating after an illicit video of Wilson surfaced at the high school and started being passed around by students.
“We had a bond hearing and the judge reduced her bond from a little over a million dollars to a hundred thousand dollars. Of course, we were opposed to that,” said Jackson.
“Given the seriousness of the case we wanted a high bond. We were pushing for a high bond but he saw fit to reduce it.”
Jackson says a preliminary hearing was set for October 11th.
