3 TD passes earn Lacey SIAC’s offensive POTW honors
ATLANTA (goldentigersports.com) — For the second consecutive week, the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers were awarded with a Player of the Week award from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) for performances on the field.
Senior quarterback Kevin Lacey became the second winner this season, joining Osband Thompson (defensive player of the week) from week one. The senior finished 11-for-19 against Albany State on Saturday, passing for 250 yards and three touchdowns.
Lacey finished with touchdown passes of nine, 41 and 51 yards on the evening, while leading drives of 76 yards (twice) in the victory over Albany State. He finished the night with four throws of 25 or more yards for an offense that piled up 406 total yards in the 28-18 win.
Tuskegee will renew a rivalry with Florida A&M University next week in the 5th Quarter Classic, the first meeting between the two schools since 1996. The game will kickoff at 6 pm (cst) at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile (Ala.), and will be carried by the Tuskegee Digital Network.
