Tuskegee’s Warner takes SIAC’s Female Runner of the Week
ATLANTA (goldentigersports.com) — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) released the cross country student-athletes of the week, and for the fifth time this week in three sports, the Tuskegee University athletic department received an award.
Senior Chante Warner was named the Female SIAC Runner of the Week for her performance at the UWG Home Opener. Warner finished 17th overall at the meet with a time of 25:52.11 in the 5k. The senior from Hueytown (Ala.) led all her teammates across the line and guided the team to a fifth place finish.
She joins quarterback Kevin Lacey (football), freshman Taliyana Bryant (volleyball), sophomore Janae Graham (volleyball) and sophomore Zahria Radford (volleyball) as award winners in the conference this week.
The team is off this week, but returns to action next Friday in Columbus (Ga.) at the Cougar Classic.
