Terence Crutcher’s Twin, Montgomery Doctor Speaks Out
Montgomery Doctor and sister to Terence Crutcher speaks out on her brother's death.
Days after the shooting that took her brother’s life, Tiffany Crutcher says the video told it all.
“We asked for the facts. We asked for answers, and we clearly got it through the video. And we’re truly devastated,” said Crutcher.
Tulsa police say Terence Crutcher failed to obey officers’ commands and tried to reach inside his vehicle. He was then tased by one officer and shot by another.
The Tulsa police officer from a helicopter made a judgement based on what he saw just before the officer shot him saying, “yeah, he looks like a big, bad dude.”
But, for Crutcher, that wasn’t her brother at all.
“Judged as a ‘big, bad dude.’ But, my brother was a husband and father. He was a twin. We just celebrated our 40th birthday. That alleged ‘big, bad dude’ sung at church every single Sunday. That ‘big, bad dude’ had his flaws, but he loved God. That ‘big, bad dude’ had just started school that day,” said Tiffany.
Tiffany Crutcher says, though the family is devastated, she will continue to stand up for justice in her brother’s death.
“We have to break the chain right here, today. If my brother was that sacrificial lamb… we will fight this. And I totally respect the men and women who wear the badge and blue. I totally do. I honor them,” said Crutcher.
The police officer who shot Terence Crutcher is on paid administrative leave pending investigation.
