Ten Year Old MPS Student Arrested for Creepy Clown Threat
Clown threats has been an ongoing issue in the River Region for the past week.
Montgomery police arrested a 10-year old for making clown threats to Montgomery Public School students. Mayor Todd Strange and Police Chief Earnest Finley made the announcement this morning.
They say the 10 year old boy was arrested after making threats posing as a clown to classmates through social media. Montgomery Public Schools investigated the situation and turned their findings over the Montgomery police.
Chief Finley did not name the child, or the school that he attended. The boy is charged with making terrorist threats.
“When you create a atmosphere of fear we have some serious issues with that individual. A terrorism threat charge is no laughing matter. It will ruin your life,” Chief Finley said.
Chief Finley also says the arrest is not related to the clown threats made to other MPS Schools on Monday. Montgomery police along with Mayor Todd Strange assured residents that there was no credible threat.
