Board Members Appointed to Wilcox Water Authority

WAL WILCOXWATER VOFrom the West Alabama Newsroom–

Families living without water in Wilcox County may not have to continue living without it too much longer.

The county commission appointed board members for the water authority and approved the water authority’s articles of incorporation at its regular meeting Monday night.

The water authority will take over operating the county water system and be eligible to apply for USDA funding to expand and upgrade the system.

“This water authority’s something we’ve been working on for almost two years now and we’ve been battling back an forth between whether we should have five members or three members, or whether, adopt a code or not adopt a code, and it was just a matter of commissioners changing their heart and doing the right thing for the people of that district of Wilcox County,” said Moton.

Oak Hill Mayor David Fuller, former Wilcox County Sheriff Prince Arnold and Lee Pettway of Gees Bend were appointed water authority board members.
