Auburn soccer set to host Missouri Friday
AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The 20th-ranked Auburn soccer team will look to continue its winning ways when it plays host to Missouri on Friday night. Kickoff for the conference clash is set for 7 p.m. at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
The Tigers (7-4-0, 3-1-0 SEC) are fresh off a successful road trip in which they won 3-0 at No. 12 Florida and 4-2 at Georgia. Kristen Dodson was involved in six of the team’s seven goals, scoring four and assisting two, en route to being named the National Player of the Week and the SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
Auburn has faced Missouri (8-3-0, 3-1-0) six times in program history, with three of those meetings on The Plains. In the last matchup at the Auburn Soccer Complex in 2014, Auburn took the 3-2 decision aided by goals from Casie Ramsier and Dodson.
Auburn and Missouri currently sit third and fourth, respectively, in the league standings with nine points each through four matches.
Dodson paces the orange and blue Tigers in both goals (seven) and assists (five). Casie Ramsier and Courtney Schell each have three goals on the season, while Bri Folds and Brooke Ramsier have both tallied three assists.
After its contest against Missouri on Friday, Auburn returns to the road next Thursday for a battle at Kentucky, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
