Tigers ready for Alumni Weekend

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The Auburn softball team is set to host alumni from years past who laid the foundation for the program, Friday through Sunday.

The Tigers will hold open practices on Friday from 3-6 p.m., Saturday from 7:30-11:30 a.m. and Sunday from 1-3:30 p.m. Sunday’s practice will feature as an intrasquad game involving the 2016-17 roster.

The alumni game will take place before the intrasquad game on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. Past players from the Auburn program will be split up into teams and will play a slow-pitch game.

Sunday will also mark the return of the canned food drive. Attendees of Sunday’s festivities can bring a non-perishable food item to receive a $1 beverage voucher toward any drink at the concession stand.

Last season, the canned food drive brought it over 7,000 pounds of food. The drive will continue and be available at all home games during the fall schedule.

Auburn’s fall slate officially begins on Oct. 15 when it hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast CC and Wallace State CC-Dothan for a round-robin. The two games involving the Tigers begin at 2:30 and 5 p.m. at Jane B. Moore Field. All games are free and open to the public.
