Higgins, Howard lead way for Tuskegee at SCAD-Atlanta Invitational

 

NEWNAN, Ga. (goldentigersports.com) —  Kayla Howard and Frederic Higgins finished in the top 25 at the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational to lead the Tuskegee University cross country teams Friday night.

On the women’s side, Howard finished 21st overall with a time of 21:58.10 – finishing just two seconds out of the top 20. She led all Tuskegee runners across the line as a pair came across 44th and 45th overall. Mataoka Wilson finished in a time of 24:46.50, just ahead of her teammate Wamika Kemp at 24:46.90.

They finished just ahead of Chante Warner in a time of 24:58.20, finishing 47th overall in the meet for Tuskegee who finished eighth overall ahead of SIAC member Miles.

Higgins led all the Golden Tiger men across the line, finishing in a time of 30:26.90 to finish 20th overall in the 8k race. Austin Henderson finished just a minute behind his teammate, finishing 24th overall in a time of 31:26.10; while Keenan Brown finished 26th overall in a time of 31:37.40.

David Dixon finished just behind his two teammates, finishing 31st overall in a time of 32:15.80; while Josh Gaston came across the line in a time of 32:26.10.

The Golden Tigers finished fifth overall in the meet, finishing ahead of fellow SIAC members Clark Atlanta Miles.
