Wetumpka’s Lacey new addition to BCFHOF player watch list
ATLANTA (goldentigersports.com) — Tuskegee senior quarterback Kevin Lacey has been added to the Black College Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Watch List this week based on his performance through the first five games of the season.
The senior quarterback has helped lead Tuskegee to a 5-0 start and national rankings in each of the major Division II polls, as well as a top five ranking in SBN Top 10, BOXTOROW Top 10 and a top-ranked in HSRN’s Division II poll.
Lacey has thrown for 1,036 yards in five games, averaging 207.20 yards per game passing. He has completed 62 of 101 passes with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions, while completing 61.39 percent of his passes. He has also rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
The senior has orchestrated two come-from-behind victories this season, including a 21-point fourth quarter comeback against 21st-ranked UNC Pembroke this past Saturday.
Lacey joins senior defensive end Julian Morgan, junior linebacker Osband Thompson, junior safety Jonah McCutcheon and junior offensive lineman Leeward Brown on the list.
The Watch List candidates have been selected based on past performance and future potential. Additions to the list may be made as the 2016 season progresses. A Selection Committee will choose the finalists, and the winner.
